DSS can decide in a multicriteria environment but it is difficult and need to practice.

    What is IDSS?

    IDSS is a decision support system that makes extensive use of artificial intelligence (AI) techniques.
  • Use of AI techniques in management information systems has a long story since 1980.
  • Ideally, an intelligent decision support system should behave like a human consultant such as supporting decision makers by gathering and analysing evidence, identifying and diagnosing problems, proposing possible courses of action and evaluating such proposed actions.
  • The aim of the AI techniques embedded in an intelligent decision support system is to enable these tasks to be performed by a computer, while emulating human capabilities as closely as possible.

    IDSS helps users to:

    Intelligent decision support is provided by a system that helps in decision-making through a display of intelligent behaviour that may include learning and reasoning. Such learning and reasoning can be achieved through implementing rule-based expert systems, knowledge-based systems or neural network systems. Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to the art of empowering computers with intelligence similar to that of humans. This is achieved by combining hardware and software systems so they can perform tasks that are rule-based and require decision-making.

  • Rules of confidence in expert system based on alternative proving. IDSS was develop to solve many problems and used for analysts decision and researcher over 30 countries and organization.
  • Fuzzy logic used for uncertainty decision and requirement for development of IDSS. Prototype of fuzzy IDSS used for decision making such as evaluation on services, partnership selection for online marketing, outsourcing IT service, risk assessment and market for telecommunication.
